At All Things, we are proud to share the tool which helped us in the last year or two: God's word.
Whilst preparing for the birth of our daughter, we stumbled across the power of printing out, writing down and just generally sharing God's word with one another.
This involved attaching sticky notes to cupboard doors and writing verses in cards to loved ones, until one day, self-affirmation, or birth affirmation cards were recommended to us to provide a calm and confident mindset during labour. But what could be more affirming and empowering than God's word? He is the creator and sustainer of all life after all.
Life can be stressful. One of the times when it can be hardest is during pregnancy and especially leading up to the day of birth! With the day of our daughter's birth fast approaching, we set about printing some beautiful, encouraging, high-quality affirmation cards. Some of the verses featured were:
- "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" - Philippians 4:13
- "Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest" - Matt 11:28
- "When my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I" - Psalm 61:2
The power of The Word
We recognised something immediately: God's word is abundantly clear... we can do all things through Him!
This is how All Things was born, and this is the answer to the question:
Christians can benefit from Biblical affirmations because reading them every day will lead us to the conclusion that all things are possible if we trust in Jesus.

Empowering birth
As time went by, we actually changed the way we look at childbirth. The truth of God’s promises calmed our fears and reminded us that His strength was with us every step of the way. Holding onto those affirmations grounded us spiritually and emotionally in one of the most intense yet beautiful experiences of our lives.
Having personally experienced the comfort and power that these Biblical affirmations brought during such a significant life event, we knew this was something worth sharing.
